The African-Canadian Christian Network (ACCN) is a registered charitable organization dedicated to supporting Black youth and families, throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

For almost 20 years, ACCN has equipped young people with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and support they need to overcome barriers, reach their full potential, and confidently pursue post-secondary education, meaningful careers, and productive adulthood.

Through mentorship, academic support, leadership development, STEM education, scholarships, parent education, and community initiatives, ACCN creates pathways that empower youth to succeed and lead.

A cornerstone of our work is Umoja Robotics, Canada’s first Black-led youth robotics team. Through hands-on STEM learning, innovation, teamwork, and international competition, Umoja is inspiring the next generation of engineers, scientists, and technology leaders. The team has earned numerous awards and has captured the Ontario District Championship title for 2026 and proudly represented Canada on the world stage in 2024 and 2026, demonstrating that Black youth can excel at the highest levels of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Our impact extends beyond youth by strengthening families, fostering meaningful community partnerships, and creating opportunities that promote education, wellness, belonging, and long-term success. By connecting young people with caring mentors, positive experiences, and valuable resources, we help develop confident, resilient leaders who are equipped to make meaningful contributions in their communities.
