About the Calgary Catholic Education Foundation (CCEF)
The Calgary Catholic Education Foundation (CCEF) is the registered charity that raises and grants funds to remove barriers to learning for students in the Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD). We support—but do not operate—schools; our role is to mobilize community giving and direct it to high‑impact needs identified by educators. In 2024/25, CCEF granted $150,000 to projects across the district, funding 51 projects at 46 schools and directly impacting 20,000+ students.
Founded in 2009, CCEF serves Catholic schools in Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere, and Cochrane, advancing faith‑based learning and student well‑being through classroom and school grants. Our current priorities include Technology, Social Justice, Safe & Caring Schools, Leadership & Stewardship, and Campus Calgary/Open Minds®.
We steward gifts for the benefit of over 65,000 students in CCSD and hold CRA charitable status #820582294RR0001.
How we’ll use Kits for a Cause
1) Backpacks for Students
Build “Ready to Learn, Ready to Shine” backpack kits so students start the year equipped and confident (typical costs: $50 elementary / $100 high school.)
2) Student Wellness Kits
Hygiene, nutrition, and calm‑tools (e.g., toothbrush/paste, deodorant, snacks, water bottle, journal, fidgets) delivered via school wellness teams to uphold dignity and keep students in class—aligned with Safe & Caring Faith‑Filled Schools and Social Justice priorities.
3) KARA (Kara Life Program) Support Kits
Baby & parenting bundles (diapers, wipes, onesies, blankets, postpartum care items) for pregnant and parenting teens at St. Anne Academic Centre, helping them stay in school and thrive as new parents.
4) Christmas Hampers for Families
Seasonal food + essentials hampers coordinated with school administrators to stabilize families during the holidays—aligned with Social Justice and Safe & Caring priorities.
