Center for Hope is a model for employing integrated programs and services designed to break the cycle of violence and its lifelong impact for victims of all races, ethnicities and religions, from the cradle to old age. We provides extensive intervention and prevention services; we work to combat the incidence as well as the emotional, physical and financial impact of violence in Baltimore. Impacted individuals benefit from the experience of experts who understand the connections across the violence spectrum, from the abused child living with a parent suffering from depression and mental illness, to the gang member on the street dealing with gun violence who goes home to care for an elderly grandparent.
There are many departments within Center for Hope. I work for the PAAVE Program. PAAVE (Pathways to Advocacy Against Violence Everyday) Program offers supportive case management, outreach, and family engagement, and advocacy services to children, youth, and families impacted by community trauma and violence. “PAAVE” links community programs to build partnerships and obtain resources that provide a pathway to healing, prevention, and advocacy. Receiving these kits will help us serve the families in need.
