My name is Denise Mills, and I am writing on behalf of the Durham Rescue Mission, the oldest and largest long-term homeless shelter in Durham, North Carolina. Since 1974, we have served men, women, and children experiencing homelessness, addiction, and poverty in the Triangle area. Through our Christ-centered, comprehensive programs, we provide shelter, meals, clothing, addiction recovery, vocational training, case management, and job placement services. Each year, we serve families in crisis, including children who are preparing to return to school but often lack the supplies they need to succeed.

We believe that every child deserves to walk into school confident, prepared, and excited to learn—and you can help make that possible.

We are currently collecting Back-to-School supplies and financial donations to ensure that every child we serve receives:

• Notebooks, pens, and pencils

• Crayons, markers, and art supplies

• Lunchboxes and water bottles
