Opened in June 1990, Homeward Family Shelter is a 35 emergency bed shelter for abused women and their children, located in Toronto. The shelter is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Today the agency operates as Julliette’s Place in memory of ex-resident Juliet Reynolds, who was murdered by her estranged husband on Mother’s Day weekend in 1996.
Julliette’s Place provides a safe haven for women and children fleeing domestic violence in a crucial time in their lives. Julliette’s Place provides information and referrals, counselling, advocacy, community outreach, legal and housing support, and educational & life skills, client-centered based programming.
The vision of Julliette’s Place is for all women and children to have the opportunity and support to live a life free of domestic violence and abuse. Julliette’s Place’s endeavours to demonstrate respect for all, act with accountability, create a safe environment, and promote self-determination.
