Knox United Church – Out of the Cold Program

Location: Toronto,
Scarborough

Since 2005, the Out of the Cold (OOTC) Program has been operating at Knox United Church in Scarborough. From early November to mid-April, the shelter is entirely staffed by volunteers from faith based and community organizations to provide a hot and nourishing meal, hospitality, socialization and safety. Sleepover accommodation is provided to 30 guests along with Saturday breakfast and a subway token. The Knox Closet relies on donations from individuals and corporations. In need items include shelter kits for men and women, lip balms, personal care essentials and winter warmth items such as hats, gloves and scarves.
