Lafayette Transitional Housing Center (dba LTHC Homeless Services) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending homelessness in Lafayette, Indiana, and the surrounding counties. With a low-barrier, people-first approach, LTHC provides a comprehensive continuum of care to individuals, families, and veterans experiencing homelessness.

Our 24/7 Engagement Center houses the Homeless Services Program, which includes coordinated entry, meals, hygiene services, emergency shelter, medical respite, workforce development access, and coordinated case management through our Housing Stability team. LTHC also operates:

• Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) for individuals and families facing chronic homelessness and disability,

• Rapid Rehousing (RRH) for those in need of short- to mid-term housing support,

• The Rural Homeless Outreach Program (RHOP) serving seven counties in Region IV of Indiana, and

• A dedicated Veteran Services Program providing housing and support for veterans and their families.

LTHC’s model centers on empathy, respect, and equity, ensuring every guest is treated with dignity while addressing their unique barriers to housing, healthcare, and self-sufficiency.

In Fiscal Year 2024:

• LTHC served 1,874 unduplicated individuals, including 1,503 adults, 371 children, and 221 families.
• Over 500 people moved into stable housing, including 296 through Rapid Rehousing and 46 in Permanent Supportive Housing.
• Our Day Resource Center provided 8,056 bed nights of shelter, 69,610 meals, and connected 1,153 guests to ongoing mental health and substance use providers in addition to housing and workforce development solutions when they had no other place to turn.

Through strong community partnerships and compassionate care, LTHC has become a trusted regional leader in housing solutions—ensuring that no one is left behind, especially during moments of medical vulnerability, crisis, or transition.
