Multifaith Housing Initiative

Multifaith Housing Initiative (MHI) is a not-for-profit charitable organization based in Ottawa, Ontario. Our mission is to provide and promote safe, affordable, and well-maintained housing in inclusive communities, and to mobilize resources for these purposes.  MHI staff/volunteers work with 80+ faith groups, local businesses, civil society, the City of Ottawa and federal/provincial governments to provide affordable, safe, and permanent housing to low-income families and individuals. MHI’s tenants are provided with secure housing and can access additional support programs and services as needed.  The MHI Community Development Team collaborates with tenants to identify and support their unique needs and strengths, and tenants actively co-lead the identification and implementation of programs that benefit their communities.
