Odyssey House is Grande Prairie Alberta’s domestic violence shelter, offering a range of supportive services to individuals in need.
- Safe Housing: We provide 24/7 emergency shelter and second-stage transitional housing for women and children escaping abuse.
- Child Support Services: We operate a licensed daycare, drop-in respite childcare, an after-school program, and in-house child support services.
- Community Support: Our services are available to anyone who has left, is currently facing, or has experienced an unhealthy or abusive relationship. We offer trauma counseling and peer support groups to foster healing and resilience. Additionally, our staff provide support and advocacy, assisting clients with family court matters, protection orders, financial planning, and self-care for greater independence.
- 24-Hour Crisis Line: Our crisis line is available 24/7 for anyone in need of immediate support.
- Primary Prevention: We offer free educational presentations for schools, community groups, youth camps, businesses, and nonprofits. These sessions cover a range of topics, including managing emotions and recognizing unhealthy relationships.
