Building a Stronger, Warmer Community
For more than 37 years, Project SHARE has been helping neighbours in Niagara Falls meet their basic needs with dignity. Today, that mission is more important than ever.
Every year, we help more than 17,500 people access emergency food and essential support services. We distribute over 1.25 million pounds of food annually, and on average, 130 families visit us every day. Nearly 30% of those we serve are children.
Behind every visit is a family doing their best to get by; a parent working multiple jobs, a senior living on a fixed income, a family facing unexpected illness or job loss, or someone rebuilding after a crisis. Your support helps ease the pressure and reminds our neighbours that they are not facing these challenges alone.
Our Most Urgent Need: Back to School
Right now, we’re asking our community to help local students head back to school with confidence.
Our annual Back to School distribution takes place during the week of August 17, and we’re working quickly to ensure every child who needs supplies receives them. Thanks to generous community support, we’ve already collected 600 backpacks, but last year we provided school supplies to 1,040 students. We still have hundreds of children to reach before school begins.
For many families, school supplies are simply out of reach after paying for housing, groceries, and other essentials. A backpack filled with notebooks, pencils, crayons, and other classroom necessities means a child can walk into school prepared, confident, and ready to learn, without feeling left behind.
Every kit donated stays right here in our community, helping a local child start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.
When you choose to support Project SHARE, you’re doing more than donating supplies. You’re helping children learn, families breathe a little easier, and neighbours feel supported during some of life’s most difficult moments.
