Sankara Healthcare Foundation Inc is a US 501(c)(3) charity established in 2012 to catalyze scalable and sustainable solutions to development challenges in health and wellness in rural India and local communities in America.
The foundation works on health campaigns that have reached over 13 million underprivileged individuals in need of critical healthcare in rural India, over 61,000 individuals in need in homeless shelters in America and dozens of children with special needs in America and Canada.
Our vision is two fold –
(1) to provide critical healthcare services at no cost in rural parts of India through weekly medical screening camps across villages in our mobile medical unit– Wellness on Wheels (WOW) bus and referring them to our local partner hospitals for treatment
(2) to provide services to shelters – including hygiene kits, winter kits and fresh, hot, plant-based nutritious meals to the homeless in America through our Project HEAL because we believe that hygiene and good nutrition plays an important role in alleviating poverty.
