SCHC (Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities)is an accredited comprehensive community health organization delivering a range of holistic health and wellness services from early years to end of life across Scarborough. We are dedicated to meeting these health needs by addressing the physical, mental, social, financial and emotional social determinants of health of our population. Our integrated and accessible programming focuses on primary health (physical and mental) and chronic disease prevention services, community engagement, wellness support in our Active Living Centre as well as assisted living, home support services (like Meals on Wheels, Food/Furniture/Clothing Bank, and outreach/engagement programs in high need populations (Toronto Community Housing buildings). Our organization offers culturally competent programs in a variety of languages that reflect the populations we serve. SCHC employs approximately 200 staff, engages over 525 core volunteers and operates 38 distinct, integrated programs and services across 11 sites in Scarborough (primarily Toronto identified Neighbourhood Improvement Areas).
