Stephen’s Backpacks Society
Meet Stephen…For nineteen years, Stephen’s passion has been to help children in need who have lost their homes. Stephen, who is on the autistic spectrum, remains determined to make a difference. He started his charity in December 2006, then age 5, by making 15 backpacks on the kitchen floor. Now, at age 24, with the help of hundreds of devoted volunteers and corporate sponsors, we have surpassed 100,000 backpacks and furnished 40 homes with brand new furnishings for families who have lost everything. Stephen lost his Dad in 2017 and stepped into the role of president. He is an inspiration to many.
Our mission is to “Rally our communities and the children within them to help children in need”. We speak to hundreds of children each year, encouraging them to “Dream Outloud” – to get involved in their communities and to help make the world a better place. Stephen is determined to continue his work until all children have a warm home, backpacks at Christmas filled with winter clothing, blankets and other necessities, and back to school backpacks containing items which children need to succeed.
We hope to have your support as we continue to “Deliver Hope and Change Lives“, one child and one family at a time.
