The Black Women’s Institute for Health (BWIH) is a registered charity committed to improving the health and wellness of Black women and girls across Canada. Through innovative programs, advocacy, and community-based initiatives, we address the systemic barriers that disproportionately affect Black women’s health.
Our key programs include:
•Mothering Minds: A mental health and wellness initiative offering support, workshops, and resources tailored for new mothers.
•Health Advocacy and Promotion: Empowering Black women with the knowledge and tools to navigate healthcare systems while addressing social determinants of health.
•Voices Unheard: A data-driven initiative collecting disaggregated race-based health data to advocate for better policies and services for Black women.
To support these initiatives, we rely on care kits containing essential hygiene products such as sanitary napkins, body wash, shampoo, wipes, and other self-care items. These kits help meet the immediate needs of Black women, many of whom face barriers to accessing these necessities. Additionally, these items are distributed through our programs to promote dignity and holistic wellness for the women and girls we serve.
By partnering with Kits for a Cause, we hope to expand our reach and continue providing critical support to our community. Your generosity can help us create a meaningful impact in the lives of Black women and girls, empowering them to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.
