The Jessica Martel Memoria Foundation’s Vision is to create a future free of domestic violence.
Jessie’s House is an all-gender emergency safe house for individuals and families who are fleeing domestic violence. It is also the home of our Child & Youth Program and 24 Hour Crisis and Intake Line. Our Residential Program provides inclusive, client-led support applying trauma-informed practices.
Our mission is to break the cycle of domestic violence by providing advocacy, education, community engagement, and safe housing. Jessie’s House, our 35-bed trauma-informed emergency shelter, offers a safe haven for individuals and families fleeing abuse. In addition to shelter, we provide outreach programs, court support, childcare services, and specialized assistance for children who have experienced the trauma of violence.
“More than just a bed, we’ll provide a broad range of services including outreach, case management, and specialized support for children. As a trauma-informed facility, we aim to meet residents where they are, reducing as many barriers to service as feasible. Serving individuals and families.” We provide programs such as our Innovative Child Care, and Inspire Programs, as well as Community Outreach.
JMMF has identified that creating a Second Stage Housing Strategy will address these gaps and ensure that there is space in Jessie’s House for clients who are in crisis. Clients who require more support for a longer period of time will transition from Jessie’s House into our second stage housing, namely Eileen’s Place, where they will receive additional programming and work toward their goals.
“If you don’t feel safe at home, you will be safe at Jessie’s House & Eileen’s Place.”
