WCWRC empowers women and gender diverse people, and their community, to move from where they are to where they want to be, by providing responsive programming, facilitating knowledge sharing and connection, and contributing to culture shift and policy transformation.
We provide services in the following areas:
Community Services: 6-days/week drop-in for wome and gender-diverse people, with laundry, shower services, hygiene give-aways and daily meals made in-house – 25,000+ visits/year
Housing + Outreach: housing and income supports, eviction prevention, and 7days/week encampment outreach to all genders with daily meals
Community Developement: settlment and gender-based violence supports for immigrants and newcomers to Canada; employment supports and childminding social enterprise providing connections to employment.
Strengthening the Circle: gender-based violence and counselling services; Indigenous cultural supports, ceremony and programming; family support worker helping families involed with the child welfare system.
