Why Not City Missions exists to empower youth through relationship. We have been a part of the Brantford landscape for over 22 years now. Our mission is to empower youth through meaningful relationships, actively engaging with vulnerable and at-risk young individuals to eliminate barriers to a positive future.
Why Not City Missions serves as a bustling hub where at-risk youth can gather nightly for a hot meal, companionship, and vital support. Recognizing the pressing need for housing tailored to the most vulnerable members of our community, we founded Why Not Youth Housing in 2021. This initiative provides subsidized housing and support to youth and young adults facing or at risk of homelessness.
Having witnessed the destructive effects of early trauma on the lives of our youth, we expanded our efforts to establish the Supportive Housing Program for Young Parents (SHYP). This program, housed in our dedicated facility, caters to young moms and their babies, as well as pregnant young women. Our dedicated staff not only offer guidance on wise life choices and healthy boundaries but also provide academic support, enabling participants to complete their high school education while attending to the needs of their children.
