September 30th marks the first National Day for Truth & Reconciliation in Canada and it’s been inspiring to meet people and community groups who are committing to give back to the Indigenous Community in a lasting way!

Meet one of our incredible Kit Packers, Jessica and learn how she’s giving back this National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.

My name is Jessica and I am Ojibwe from Dokis First Nation residing on the traditional lands of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinabewaki, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Mississauga, and the Wendake-Nionwentsïo. With the first National Day of Truth and Reconciliation happening this September 30th, 2021 – I wanted to do something meaningful to give back to the Indigenous community. I have to admit I am very fortunate for the life I have been given and continue to strive for, but there are many Indigenous people who don’t have the basic necessities and continue to face rising homelessness and racial discrimination. Please join me by purchasing items from this Wishlist so that we may provide essential care kits to local Indigenous organizations supporting youth and homelessness. Chi-miigwetch!

Help us support the Indigenous Community through Care Kits. Donations will be provided to local organizations supporting families, youth and the homeless community. We’ve selected: Thunder Women Healing LodgeNA-ME-RES and Native Child & Family Services of Toronto to receive all donations collected!
