Bags of Promise (BOP) is a registered Canadian non-profit founded in Spring of 2021 with the mission of assisting homeless youth in the Kingston community. Our goal is to foster relationships and partnerships among the Kingston and Queen’s community by educating and inspiring youth to advocate for their peers in-need. Formulating a sense of belonging and destigmatizing adolescents aligns with our mission of ensuring that each child is not left behind, and neither are their belongings.
Our team works with shelters and various organizations supporting youth homelessness to provide them with bags through fundraising and other service initiatives. These bags are filled with essential supplies that are tailored to the needs of the population that we are serving, ranging from toiletries to school supplies and non perishables.
We have distributed 280 bags to youth across Ontario, most recently 30+ bags Tipi Moza, which is a local shelter for Indigenous Youth in Kingston.
