Dixon Transition Society

Location: Burnaby,
British Columbia

Dixon Transition Society is a non-profit organization located in Burnaby, dedicated to providing essential support to women and children who are escaping domestic violence in the Lower Mainland. Domestic violence, an issue that transcends ethnic, socioeconomic, and educational boundaries, affects over 20,000 women who report their cases in British Columbia every year. Due to the continued support of community donors, we have been operating for 50 years providing shelter, counseling, and outreach programs to over 500 clients annually. While staying with us, our clients are provided with food, clothing, basic personal and household supplies, workshops, and counselling support, all at no cost. Our mission is to raise awareness about domestic violence and to empower survivors on their journey to healing and independence.
