Heart Beatz Youth Division provides youth services, including after-school programs, a community kitchen, and summer camps. We serve 11-18 years old’s from the low-income “Neighbourhood Improvement Area” (as defined by the City of Toronto) of Eglinton East in Scarborough. We engage youth in sports/physical activities (basketball, soccer, badminton, volleyball, ice skating, swimming, etc.), health & wellness activities, leadership activities, cooking, arts & crafts, kickboxing, etc. Youth receive healthy snacks daily that follow the Canada Food Guide and facilitate a small-scale food bank for youth’s families. We teach and engage our youth in a healthy and active lifestyle, develop their life skills such as cooking, and planning nutritious snacks/meals and encourage them in their education by assisting them with homework.
