We provide two after-school programs that run five days per week in the “Neighbourhood Improvement Area” of Eglinton East. Our after school programmes serve 11-15 year olds who reside in nearby Toronto Community Housing buildings and low-income neighbourhoods. We engage youth in sports/physical activities (basketball, soccer, baseball, volleyball, ice skating, swimming, etc.), health & wellness activities, leadership activities, cooking, arts & crafts and games nights. Our youth receive healthy snacks each day that follow the Canada Food Guide.
We teach and engage our youth in a healthy and active life style, develop their life skills such as cooking, planning nutritious snacks/meals and encourage them in their education by assisting them with homework. We serve youth from all abilities including those with various physical abilities, developmental abilities and mental health.
We also provide youth development services such as volunteer training, first aid training, food handler’s training, etc. and facilitate a small-scale food bank and book lending library for local families.
