Pack a Bag for a Friend Foundation is a non-for-profit organization whose mission is to help those in need for the Holidays.  For the last nine years we have donated a backpack to children and youth in the Halton Region (Milton, Acton, Georgetown, Campbellville, Halton Hills, Burlington, and Oakville). Each backpack contains high quality new necessity items: pajamas, scarves, slippers, waterproof gloves or mitts, toque, socks, book, water bottle, toothbrush/paste and age appropriate toy/gift.

In addition to donating the backpacks for the Holidays, Festive food hampers are also provided to identified families from our community charity supporters. The festive food hampers include a Turkey/Halal Chicken, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, vegetables, salad, fruit, crackers, milk, and chocolate treat, so that the families can enjoy a warm meal together.

This past Christmas of 2022, approximately 2,000 backpacks were distributed to the following organizations: Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Halton, St. Vincent de Paul, Grace Anglican Church, Food4Kids Halton (includes families in Milton, Acton, Georgetown, Campbellville, Oakville, and Burlington), Milton Transitional Housing, Food for Life, Milton Community Living, Community Youth Program, Shifra Homes, Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC), Living Hope for Care and Counselling, Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf – Milton, plus individuals with the community.

Pack a Bag for a Friend Foundation’s success is driven by our many volunteers, from the children & their parents that assist in giving their time and effort, generous donations from individuals & companies, and community  organizations like local sports teams, and finally from supporting charities (ie: Food4Kids, Black & White Pajama Party).

The foundation conducts three (3) major fundraising throughout the year (Victorian Tea, Silent Auction, & Golf Tournament) to raise funds to meet its $250k goal for the Backpacks and Festive Hampers.
