The Scott Mission
The Scott Mission is a Christian (non-denominational) charity based in Toronto, responding to the needs of the homeless, abandoned, and vulnerable of all ages since 1941. We are a ministry that shares the mercy and love of Christ, meeting the needs of people with love and compassion and seeking to bring spiritual, physical, and emotional wholeness to their lives.
Our various ministries offer support and provisions for struggling men and women, low-income families, and children and youth. Our programs and services include: hot meals (served twice a day, six days a week); daily bag lunches; a quality childcare centre; a summer camp and after-school programs for children and youth from low-income families; free good-quality clothing; groceries; shower and laundry facilities for the homeless; a 40-bed shelter; Bible study and support groups; and out-of-town retreats for shut-ins.
The Mission has been built on the vision of our founders Morris and Annie Zeidman, who began the work in 1941. It was their belief that the hunger of the soul needed to be addressed as well as the hunger of the physical body. We trust that as you learn more about our story and the work we do, that you too will be blessed by seeing what the Lord has enabled us to do in partnership with so many individuals and organizations in the community. Thank you so much for your support and generosity!
